In the holiday spirit of giving, the ICHAD U.S. and Uganda teams worked together to collect donations and deliver packages to families in the Matale Catholic Parish in Kalisizo, Uganda. The team delivered 45 packages of maize flour, rice, sugar and soap which were distributed to 45 families across the parish. Reverend Father Joseph Ssemwanga, the parish priest, expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Matale Parish families stating that the packages “will make a difference in their lives during the festive season and amidst the current economic situation.” He added that the families were excited and thankful when they were informed that the packages were donated by SUUBI. One family said, “Dr. Ssewamala abeewo, era omukama amwongere, tuwonye bicaayi ebikalu. Tugenda n’okulya ku kaceere.” which means “Long live Dr. Ssewamala, God bless you. Now we can afford to take tea with sugar and can afford to eat rice.”
