Dr. Fred Ssewamala Awarded the Brown School 2024 Distinguished Faculty Award

Congratulations to Dr. Fred Ssewamala, who was honored with the Brown School’s 2024 Distinguished Faculty Award on August 27, 2024. This award is presented to a faculty member who embodies the vision and mission of the Brown School. As the award recipient, Dr. Fred also gave the 2024 Convocation address to the Brown School’s new students. He shared his powerful life story and unwavering dedication to global help in a lecture titled “My Journey from Africa to America: Resiliency and Innovation in Global Health.”

Following the ceremony, Dean Dorian kicked off the centennial celebration to mark the Brown School’s 100th anniversary, and its century-long contributions to social work, public health, and social policy. Congratulations to the Brown School on this huge milestone!
