Dr. Fred Ssewamala to receive WashU’s 2024 Faculty Achievement Award!

ICHAD’s Founding Director, Dr. Fred Ssewamala has been chosen to receive the Washington University in St. Louis’ 2024 faculty achievement award, Chancellor Andrew D. Martin announced.

Dr. Ssewamala, the William E. Gordon Distinguished Professor at the Brown School, will receive the Arthur Holly Compton Faculty Achievement Award. The Compton Award is given to a distinguished member of the faculty at Washington University in St. Louis, based on outstanding achievement in research and scholarship, recognized prominence within the community of scholars, service and dedication for the betterment of Washington University, and respected accomplishments in teaching.

The award will be presented at the university’s annual Founders Day dinner on Nov. 9.
