RRT Fellow, William Byansi’s publication process and conference presentations

William Byansi is an ICHAD Research Associate and a member of the first cohort of Researcher Resilience Training (RRT) Fellows, a training program funded by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and designed for researchers of African descent interested in adolescent behavioral health in low resource settings. The RRT is a joint program between ICHAD, SMART Africa and the Race and Opportunity Lab, all housed at the Brown School.

This year, William led four presentations at the Society for Social Work and Research Series 19th and 20th Annual Conferences and the 3rd Annual HUBs meeting organized by NIMH. William co-authored three publications in 2019, including ICHAD’s Suubi+ Adherence study protocol published in the Contemporary Clinical Trials Communications journal. The other two publications were: “Prevalence of Disruptive Behaviors and Attention-deficit/hyperactive disorder among school-going Children in Southwestern Uganda” and “Utilizing a family-based economic strengthening intervention to improve mental health wellbeing among female adolescent orphans in Uganda.”

Congratulations William! We are proud of all your accomplishments, and we look forward to many more in the future!
