January 2020 Newsletter

Winter greetings from the ICHAD and SMART Africa Teams! After taking a short break to enjoy the holiday season, our teams are back in action. Our dissemination efforts are in full swing as PhD students William Byansi, Daji Dvalishivili, Fithi Embaye, and ICHAD Co-Director Dr. Proscovia Nabunya presented at the Society for Social Work and Research’s 20th Annual Conference this past January. Also congratulations to ICHAD members Sicong (Summer) Sun, Ozge Sensoy Bahar, and Fred Ssewamala and ICHAD affiliate Yesim Tozan, for their article highlighting the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of the Bridges intervention that was recently published in PLoS One. Also, congrats to Dr. Ozge Sensoy Bahar for receiving pilot funding to examine mental health stigma in Uganda.
